Turkey vs Turkish people

This will be quite a short entry, hopefully. Baru habis having dinner tadi and i was thinking of updating this little page of mine since it's gonna way too long kalau nak tunggu next coming weekend. who knows apa agenda pulak menanti next week kan..huhu..and plus, i promised a friend to make an entry about turkey~..so, this is for you..^^

Blue Mosque.

So, jom sambung cerita dari entry yang sebelum ni..pasal london right?So dari london sampai la dekat Sabiha Gokchen airport around 1pm local time.Disebabkan ktorang nek flight pkl 8am, so igtkan the flight will took around 5 hours la kan sbbnye arrival time yg termaktub dekat atas tiket tu = 1pm but~ because the time difference, it only took around 3 hours macam tu..jam turkey pukul 1 tapi our watch baru pkl 11am.. sampai airport, the first thing that i notice was betapa lengangnya airport tuh..mungkin sbb lunch hour?..err..masuk akal ke..mungkin tidak~but begitulah keadaannya.

Dari airport, we took a bus,then a ferry and finally sampai la ke istanbul..yeay!!..excited!!..keluar ferry je nampak ramai sangat orang dekat port tu..sangat ramai..seriously..by 'sangat ramai', i mean sangat2 ramai! packed..crowded..congested!..kalah jalan TAR..
Dari kota istanbul, we walk a bit and sampaila to our accommodation. Sume dah pancit bila sampai hostel, letak je luggage, sama2 masuk ke alam mimpi..haha..sgt tak productive kan..

 2nd day in istanbul,
The first place we went to was Masjid Biru aka the Sultanahmed Mosque aka the Blue mosque. Local people kat turkey tak panggil masjid biru tu Blue mosque, dorang panggil Sultanahmed mosque, so some of them gets confused if u asked them where's the blue mosque. Another thing about turkish people is they don't really speak english..ade yang tak paham pun. Almost all the time when we were in turkey we used sign language. Time ni la nak gunakan segala kekreativitian,body language dan segala peralatan yang ada utk bagi orang paham. Good to see they appreciate their language but the down side of it is ktorang la terkial2 kat tengah2 istanbul tu..Huhu..

Okay, enough complaning..jom tengok tempat2 menarik kat istanbul..hee

1)Sultanahmed Mosque
Sultanahmed mosque ni as the the word 'mosque' potrayed, a masjid. Tempat orang semayang tapi disebabkan ramainya tourist nk tengok blue mosque ni, cammane luarnya, cammane dalamnya, da tak rupa tempat semayang dah literally. I said this because ktorang smyg zohor and asar kat sini. bayangkan tengah2 semayang tu orang lalu layang kat depan amek gambar..bayangkanlah tahap kekhusyukan yang diperlukan utk smyg kat ctu..stress!..T.T..apart from that, the interior design were superb sangat!^^

2)Topkapi Palace
Entrance fee = 25lira..T.T..mahalnye la..ktorang da nk dekat smpi depan kaunter ticket tu baru tau the entrance fee was that high..uhuk3..tapi beli je la..bila lagi nk sampai turkey kan n nak masuk palace yang once where the uthman empire ruler tinggal. Pintu gerbang palace ni cantik but the inside is more stunning!. As many other palace, ada dewan, library, garden, meeting room, etc. Ade jugak room utk jewellary and one room yang sangat menarik my perhatian was the clock room. sangat cantik. Clocks all over the world, creatively and stunnings made,with germs and gold, hand made and beautifully crafted were gathered inside that room..sangat cantik!..sume tu jam2 lame, ade macam2 rupa n dari tahun berape ntah..kalo boleh tak nk keluar dari bilik tu nk tgk jam-jam tu puas2 tapi malangnya byk tempat lagi nk kena pegi..T.T..and the other saddening thing was camera is not allowed inside..i managed to take one pic je before the guard warned me...huhu..>.<

Selain dari the clocks' room, ada room yang diletakkan barang2 kemas hadiah dari negara2 lain, ade room yang kumpulkan senjata2 yang digunakan time kerajaan uthmaniah memerintah dulu, pakaian2 and also a room di mana dorang tunjuk cara diorang gunakan guns, bow and pedang. Time tengok2 bilik ni terasa macam nk belaja men pedang pun ada..huhu..one thing that i noticed was pedang2 and almost all their weapons ni banyak ukiran2 dan tulisan2 arab, ayat-ayat alquran and byk jugak diukir nama atas pedang tu. Cantik and dorang punya hiasan banyak guna germs and emas. even bow pun ade ukiran2 emas ngn germs..apatah lagi baju kan..kayanya kerajaan uthumaniah ni..

This is what i managed to captured..ni tempat ke 1000 000th tercantik kalo nk dibandingkan dengan jam2 lain yang tak sempat diambil gambar..T.T

3)Hagia Sophia.
Disebabkan Hagia sophia tutup hari isnin (which was the day we visited tempat-tempat di atas), ktorang pegi hagia sophia on the next day. Entrance fee = 25lira jugak. luckily we went there pagi dkt2 pkl 10 rasenye..if we went there after 10, memang tak larat nk que. Hagia sophia dikatakan sebagai ex-church yang ditukarkan menjadi masjid sebelum ditukarkan jadi museum pada hari ini. Inside, sepeti masjid2 lain, ade tempat sembahyang, tempat imam baca khutbah n tempat muazin melaungkan azan. basically, hagia sophia ni ada 2 bahagian. satu bahagian yang utk orang islam, and the other part was for orang kristian esp aras 1. Penuh dengan gambar2 utk agama kristian. What makes me wonder was, kenapa masa ditukarkan church kepada masjid tu, gambar2 tu tak di paint or abolished?..cause it's quite odd to see kalimah Allah and Muhammad at one site and all of sudden ade gambar orang bersayap terbang2 nearby..awkward kan?..
Tapi, what ever the reason was, let's think positively..it's not the place that important, it's the belief that you practice matters...right?..^^

4)City sightseeing.
To be honest, itu je la tempat yang ktorang pegi sepanjang 3 hari kat turkey tu. The rest of time we spend on bus..looking through the glass window..sume gara2 mr.farouq, a bus agent yang recommendkan the 24hours tour ticket. Meaning, we can hop on - hop off the bus within 24hour from the moment we bought the 11euro ticket. Berbaloi tak?..hurmm..ktorang cover pretty much asian part and europe part of turkey tapi dari kaca tingkap bus je la..kinda regret that now..T.T..aigoo..membazir masa..

5)Grand bazaar~
Ceritanya grand bazaar nih~..after pegi hagia sophia, lunch, ktorang pun mencari la grand bazaar nih..tanya orang2 sekeliling, dorang kate kene berjalan around 500-1km dari tempt ktorang tu..so, dah give up nk carik sbbnye ktorang dah memang ada dkt satu bazaar ni cume bukan grand bazaar la..namenye mahmud basyar bazaar..disebabkan tak banyak masa left (sbb mlm tu ktorang kene catch a bus utk pegi kusadasi which is 10 hours journey dari istanbul), we end up shopping dekat mahmud basyar tu je la..shopping2, tetibe jumpe pulak grand bazaar tu..frustrated!..we spent less than an hour kat ctu..barang sah2 lagi murah and grand bazaar sgt besar..ade around 30+ pintu masuk..memang ajaib kalau tak sesat..haha..

Lunch..kebab lagi~..heaven!..^______^

Anyway..lepas shopping akt grand bazaar, tak sempat nk carik spice bazaar, terus bergegas pegi kedai yang jual turkish delight. Kata orang kalo pegi turkey tak rasa turkish delight dia rugi la..that's why carik jugak turkish delight..kedai sebelah ktorang punye accommodation..tapi harga die berkali ganda lagi mahal dari kat spice bazaar..>.<..redha je la.sape suruh tak pegi spice bazaar kan..*sigh*..tak sempat..

Begitulah ceritanya ktorang dekat istanbul~other than that, makan sangat senang..cumanya yang tak bestnya istanbul ni, although it is an islamic country, botol arak tu memang merata2 jual, dah macam botol air masak pun ye..sedih bila tgk orang islam sendiri minum arak..sume gara-gara kamal al-tartuk lanatullah..=.=

Ayran =.tak sedap..>.<..basically air yogurt+salt. It is a tradisional drink of turkish people. Nak try pun boleh.

The other thing i notice is perempuan2 dekat turkey ni dorang suke pakai tudung tak tak lipat, if u are a girl, u know what i mean right..tak lipat tudung kat tepi pipi tu..and dorang suka pakai skirt rather than seluar..kalo nmpk perempaun turkey pakai seluar tu agak pelik la..dorang pun pandang pelik ktorang yang tak pakai skirt ni..huhu..and their dressing sangat fashionista~..macam nk pegi dinner(the ladies)..i wish i have one those dress/skirt...rase nk pegi turkey balik shopping..>__<

Anyway, ktorang dapat la belajar beberapa perkataan turkey mase wat tour dalam bus tu..antaranya~

Stadyumu = stadium~

Muzesi = museum

Sarayi = palace

Erm..communication sgt horror..memang kebanyakan dorang tak reti cakap english..majority, even peniaga kedai2 pun..n orang2nya, those yang ktorang encounter setakat ktorangg 3 hari kt istanbul tu, sgt kasar..contohnyaaa..dorang marah betul kalo orang selerak-selerakkan baju untuk dipilih..biasa la kan kalo nk shopping selendang, mesti la pilih-pilih, dorang tak bagi, memang kene tengok je kalo boleh, annoying gile seriously, tak customer-friendly!..at least ni kedai yang i went to la..even kat grand bazar tu,haihh...bad memoriess flooding~~..sabar je la..sampaikan smpai skg nk pegi primark(kat cni punye kedai) pun nk pilih baju jadi takut..>.< contoh ke-2 : ade ke orang kat kedai mkn tu tak bagi ktorang cancel mknn yg ktorang tak nak??dah la pushy gile..eeii..geramnyela kalo igt..haih..saba naimah...>.<..anyway itu je la yang tak bestnya pasal orang kat turkey, terlampau pushy and rude. Ade je yang baek tapi u won't get that once u said this-->discount?..memang tak dpt..unless pak cik or mak cik bebetul baik or u beli banyak kat kedai die..

London =D..Tak sangka da sampai london, the capital city of england~..hihi..excited?yes!..ngee.. it took me several hours untuk digest that i was in England back then..england~~..kalau kecik2 dulu dengar word 'England' je dah ---> wowwww..England~ tak sangka dah besar ni boleh menjejakkan kaki kat sini.alhamdulillah..^^

A very busy city,and orangnya always seems to be in a hurry.This is what 'london' to me.
Tepat jam 8pagi we arrived in London Luton airport, took an Easybus (that we booked previously online) and safely arrived in Earls court.

Dari Earls Court to Malaysian Hall, we walk. Walk and walk and walk and finally after around 30 minutes walk sampaila kat Queenborough Terrace. Jumpa malaysian hall akhirnya..yeay!!..;D to be honest, the hall was not like what i have back in mind at all..Zen zen no..>.< i'm imagining a whole new hotel-like building with our Jalur gemilang flag berkibar megah ditiup angin, disambut dengan receptonist yang anggun berbaju tradisional dgn senyuman manis bersopan santun. demo nei~..all my hopes runtuh jatuh menyembah bumi. crushed! hancur berkecai..T.T..nothing!..zen zen..zero..no..illek~..nothing like that al all..kuciwa~oh well, that's what you get when imagining things tanpa google.huhu

Moving on, first day in london.

Dalam capsule..

We went to the famous highly most anticipated London eye..yeay~..naik london eye ni konon2 nak view the vast city of london...tapi honestly?bosan~..other than tangkap2 gambar and berdiri dalam capsule tu, there's nothing much to do. So, to you yang in the future nk pegi london, you can skip this..tak yah naik pun tak rugi..(muka serious)..huhu..

Right after naik capsule, we went to a 4D room to watch a 4-minute movie about the city of london. Ni jauh~~lagi menarik..sebabnye? 4D!!..;D

Next stop, we went to the london bridge exhibition..ni best!seyes best..you can see all sorts of bridges from all over the world, the unique designs and the creativity and the awesome ideas from architects (and engineers too) dari serata dunia..this is why i like architect..hihi..ade kaitan ke?..;p oh, lupa nk cakap..on the way to the london bridge exhibition tu, we were approach by a man yang thought we were from iran or saudi arabia ..he was very disturbing and hitting around the bush..i don't know what he was trying to get to but eventually got yelled by diana..hehe..serve you right..tetibe approach orang nak condemn..saba je la..

London bridge exhibition..Quite interesting place to visit.^^ esp to those yang took engineering and architecture course..if a pharmacist student like us 5 found it quite enjoyable, can't imagine what joy would it bring to those yang amek engineering kan?..^^

Stonehenge!..The stonehendge..ataupun also known as the Hanged stone, dalam bahase melayu nye batu yang tergantung?tak paham jugak kenape dipanggil batu yang digantung..tak nampak macam kena gantung pun kan..huhu..

So, stonehenge trip took about one an a half hours from the bus station. we took a tour (sebb lagi senang). Tempat stonehenge ni sangat jauh n terpencil. Tinggalan sejarah la katekan--> British Heritage...that's what written kat brochure die..XD..Quite amazing place walaupun hanya batu yang disusun2..hihi..batu ni nampak sangat besar. Ktorang tak tahu la berape besar batu ni sbb tak bley tengok dekat2..there's a barrier set up around the stone. Limited access. ='( Cuaca hari itu..sejukk..sejuk sesejuk sejuknya..rasa cam nk beku tangan..jauh lagi sejuk dari glasgow..>.<

Balik dari stonehenge..ktorang pegi museum..yep, ktorang memang peminat no 1 museum..pegi mane2 tempat pun mesti kena masuk museum..pegi edin masuk museum..kat glasgow masuk museum..sebabnye?entrance free~~..hehehehe..tapi kat turkey ngn greece tak masuk la plak sebb kena tak free..hihi..

Selain dinosour, banyak jugak binatang2 lain yang dah pupus di exhibit kan dekat museum ni ..yang da nk pupus macam polar bear kat atas ni pun ade jugak..

Museum yang ktorang masuk ni is called National Museum. Time ktorang masuk ni tgh ade dinosour exhibition tapi there's a few section closed. Walaupon a few sections closed, ktorang tak sempat nk cover all the other sections yang tak ditutup tu..sbb museum tu agak besar..Seriously we had fun..best!..tgk dinosour and sebut2 nama2 dorang yang pelik2 tuh..reading the facts, knowing their history and evolution..sambil-sambil teringat cerita2 dinosour yang selalu tgk kat tv time kecik-kecik dulu..^^

Lepas masuk museum, menuju pulang ke malaysian hall~..cam biasa, carik dinner dekat sekitar queenborough terrace tuh..luckily kawasan tu macam small city jugak and kedai berderet2..so, tak susah la nk carik makan..tinggal halal ke tak ke..huhu

Hari ketiga kat london, jumpa abang putra, kak aqmal and twins~~..the twins were kawaiiii...cute tahap angkasa...keoptaaa..<3 khairunnisa n khairunnajah..najah kakak, nisa' adik..comel budak berdua ni..^^..we had our lunch kat rumah abang putra before went to see syahril.. banyak date hari tuh..huhu..

Syahril bawak ktorang pegi stadium Chelsea.. tak tahu sape yang minat team chelsea nih..mungkin diana..tapi ktorang ikut je la sbb takde mende nk wat time tu..huhu..right after, ktorng pegi chinatown yang dikatakan one of the tourist attraction kat london. seriously macam kat negara China..dah tak payah pegi negara China dah..datang ctu je da dapat feeling China..huhu..datang ctu nk carik dinner sebenarnya but disebbkan syubhah n macam sesak je orang, ktorang end up having our dinner dekat Bonda Cafe~..

Around 10.30pm camtu ktorang bertolak pegi Earls court, took an easybus to Luton airport. Stayed overnight sebb nak kena catch an early flight the next day to Turkey~..next entry~Sabiha Gokchen,turkey!..;)
